Software Development Director
Location: New Brunswick

We are currently seeking an experienced Software Development Director for the Delphi Technology OASIS suite of products.

In this position, you will be responsible for developing product strategies, plans, and programs that optimize revenue growth and profitability of Delphi Technology's OASIS product suite. The successful candidate will drive innovative development and deployment strategies in the integration of OASIS application / solution offerings with other suite offerings.

You will be responsible for creating the OASIS development roadmap, detailing the development and delivery of strategic and tactical plans for penetrating new and existing markets, including the planning and delivery of new products, applications, and solutions. This will include working closely with OASIS Product Management who have the responsibility to define offerings through the development and deployment of defined strategies.

You will also be accountable for thinking strategically, not only within the OASIS scope of responsibility, but also across other product management suites for the betterment of the group. They will lead and reinforce company and group values and culture in day-to-day behaviors, management style, interaction with peers, and expectations of subordinates. This individual will work closely with Executive Management, other Development Directors, and customers on a regular basis.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to the OASIS development group and work with the OASIS Management with a focus on identifying, developing, and deploying market-driven, differentiated solutions that will improve our customers' business performance and provide the highest returns on our investments.
• Coordinate product / program development within the OASIS Development organization, including technical justification for product selection and definitions.
• Work with OASIS Product Management to define the Marketing Requirements and Design for each feature / project / product release within the OASIS strategy.
• Serve as the interface between the Product Management and Development organizations, managing the relationship to form an effective communication which ensures clear understanding of requirements and deliverables.
• With the help of OASIS Domain Experts and technical leads, provide initial estimates for features and projects as defined and required.
• Work with OASIS development managers to define the personnel skill, software and hardware required for each feature and / or project. Once the work has begun, mentor the development organization to provide more detail or clarify the requirements.
• Conduct technical analyses of trends and competitor strategies.
• Collaborate with a variety of functional areas (i.e., customers, program management) to develop and provide product / program definitions responsive to customer needs and market opportunities.
• Ensure provision of details of technical training needed in the introduction of existing products to new markets, as appropriate.
• Work closely with the Customer Support and Implementation organizations to support existing and future customers.
• Represent the company at associations, tradeshows, and professional societies. Assist in promotional activities to achieve maximum publicity and good will for company products.
• Responsible for the performance management process for any direct reports.
• Recruits and hires employees necessary to support organizational and corporate goals and objectives. Is part of the interview process to evaluate candidate's domain skills in the OASIS area.
• Provides coaching, career development, and training for all department employees.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in computer science, or a related field.
• Ten or more years of software development experience, building products and customized applications.
• Software development background a must. Should have moved through the ranks, starting as a software developer.
• Extremely knowledgeable about Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• Working experience with either CMMI, RUP, XP, or Agile programming.
• Project management experience, with hands-on experience with Microsoft Project.
• In-depth knowledge of latest industry technology, including J2EE, .NET, and web development.
• Proficient in understanding ORACLE and PowerBuilder.
